LPNs must complete 18 contact hours of CE to renew a license, including:

You can submit your completed certificates to CE Broker for the Washington, D.C., nursing license renewal. If you don’t use CE Broker, then you must upload your completed continuing education course certificates when renewing your license. 5. When is the 2025 renewal deadline? 

LPNs must renew their licenses by June 30, 2025.

6. What happens if I miss the renewal deadline?

If you don’t renew your license by June 30, there’s a 60-day grace period to renew. However, you’ll incur an $85 late fee. Your license will be considered lapsed if it’s not renewed by the deadline or within the grace period. You cannot continue to work until your license is reinstated. You’ll have to apply for reinstatement, which includes a criminal background check, and pay a $280 application fee.

7. How do I renew my nurse license?

 You must complete the continuing education unit requirements for the Washington, D.C., nursing license renewal. You also need to submit your application on the DC Health website with your certificates, if you haven’t already reported them to CE Broker. A valid method of payment will be needed to complete your renewal.
