1. What are the continuing education requirements for the 2024 Nebraska nursing license renewal?Â
LPNs and RNs must meet continuing competency requirements to renew their license. While several options exist to meet this requirement, most nurses choose to complete 20 contact hours of continuing education from an ANCC and Nebraska Board of Nursing-approved provider (such as Nursing CE Central).
No more than four of the 20 contact hours may be from CPR or BLS certifications.
Nursing CE Central’s Nebraska Renewal Bundle includes LPN license renewal CE and RN license renewal CE.Â
APRNs fulfill the competency requirement for renewal by maintaining their national board certification. However, APRNs with prescriptive authority must complete three hours of continuing education in opiate prescribing.Â
Nursing CE Central’s APRN Pharmacology Bundle contains CE needed for the Nebraska license renewal. Â
