- Understand sexual assault as a public health problem and its impact on the state of Texas.
- Define, exemplify, and recognize various types of human trafficking, its victims, and its offenders.
- Summarize the nurse’s legal obligation as a “mandatory reporter” of suspected abuse.
- Discuss tick-borne illnesses prevalent in Texas, including but not limited to Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and ehrlichiosis.
- Identify FDA-approved and off-label indications for non-opioid medications and other various therapies for chronic pain management.
- Describe common side effects, including severe possible side effects, of SSRIs
- Describe commonly prescribed opioids for pain management and understand their side effects and indications of use.
