Accreditation Statement

Nursing CE Central LLC is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

In this course, we will discuss APRN courses pertinent to renewal in Connecticut. It will take the average learner 1200 minutes to complete and awards 20 contact hours of continuing education.

Course Outcomes

After completing this course, the learner will rate a 4 out of 5 on the Likert Scale for their ability to:

1. Identify ways that people of minority groups experience healthcare differently than other patients.
2. List risk factors associated with a higher prevalence of mental health diagnoses.
3. Understand different strategies of care-giving related to Alzheimer’s disease and ways to manage various aspects of behavioral changes of a patient with Alzheimer’s.
4. Describe the pathophysiology of Lewy body dementia.
5. Identify what behavior constitutes sexual harassment.
6. Discuss the different forms of domestic abuse and provide examples of each.
7. Have an increased understanding of the history of HIV and how the stigma around the disease developed and is being combated today.
8. Describe commonly prescribed opioids for pain management and understand their side effects and indications of use.
